Aaniya Webb, an accomplished graduate of Omaha Central High School, played a key role on Saturday, February 28, as the Tennessee State Lady Tigers secured a 67-60 victory against the UT Martin Skyhawks.
The senior guard, standing 5′11″, tallied 18 points, seven rebounds and five steals over 39 minutes on the court.
Omaha Softball will face St. Thomas in a key Summit League series starting April 10 after an eight-game win streak. The Mavericks have achieved their highest-ever mid-major ranking this season and recently celebrated pitcher Alexis Wiggins’ weekly league honor.
Creighton’s softball series against Georgetown has been rescheduled due to rain in the forecast. The teams will now play a doubleheader on Friday and one game Saturday. Fans with Sunday tickets can exchange them for another home game.
These former City of Omaha area high school athletes are set to compete on Friday, April 10.
