Creighton’s Morgan Becker and Julia Karmazin were named BIG EAST Female Golfers of the Week, according to a March 26 announcement from the league.

The recognition follows strong performances by both athletes at the Bell Bank “Pay It Forward” Collegiate held in Litchfield Park, Arizona. The Creighton Bluejays set new modern program records for best team round, best 54-hole score, and Karmazin tied the program record for best individual round during the event.

Becker posted rounds of 69, 73, and 72. Her opening round score of 69 was Creighton’s third-best since 2003 and matched the school’s top mark for an opening tournament round. Karmazin finished with scores of 75, 72, and a final-round 67 that included five birdies in her first nine holes. This performance tied her for Creighton’s individual single-round record. It is also her second time being honored as BIG EAST Golfer of the Week this spring; she previously received this recognition on February 5.

Both golfers finished with a three-round total of 214 strokes—just one shot shy of matching Creighton’s all-time best. The team’s combined score over three rounds was an aggregate of 874, which improved upon their previous lowest total by twelve shots since records began in the modern era (2003-04). Their daily team scores were recorded as 291, 296, and then a program-record-breaking final round at 287.

Monday’s initial team score equaled their prior record set on April 18 last year at the BIG EAST Championships before they surpassed it by four strokes on Tuesday.
