Former Omaha Hockey forward Cameron Mitchell has signed with the Wichita Thunder of the ECHL, according to a March 12 announcement from the team. The move comes after Mitchell completed his collegiate hockey career following the 2025-26 season.
Mitchell played four seasons with the Mavericks, appearing in 93 games and recording a total of 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points. In his final season, he contributed two goals and four assists, closing out his time at Omaha before making the transition to professional hockey.
Head coach Mike Gabinet said, “So happy to see Cam move onto the pro level, he is a player that does the right things day in and day out. He has a bright future and I am excited to watch him play.”
The signing marks an important step for Mitchell as he begins his professional career in the ECHL. Fans can follow updates on Omaha Hockey through their official X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts at @OmahaHKY.
