Creighton Baseball lost to Miami 11-1 in eight innings on Saturday, March 21. The defeat dropped Creighton’s record to 9-10 for the season, while Miami improved to 17-6.
The game began with junior Connor Capece giving the Bluejays an early lead by hitting his first home run of the season in the top of the second inning. However, Miami responded quickly, scoring two runs off Creighton starter Ian Koosman in the bottom half of the same inning. The Hurricanes added single runs in both the third and fifth innings to extend their advantage.
Miami continued to build its lead with two more runs in the sixth inning, one run in the seventh, and four runs in the eighth inning, which ended the contest early due to run rules.
Koosman was charged with the loss and now holds a record of 0-2 after allowing four runs on six hits over four innings pitched. Miami’s starting pitcher Rob Evans earned his fifth win of the season (5-1), giving up just one run on three hits across six and one-third innings.
The series between Creighton and Miami will conclude on Sunday, with first pitch scheduled for noon Central Time.
