Creighton University announced on Mar. 9 that three members of its softball team—Lily West, Brooklyn Patchen, and Zoey Greenwood—have received weekly honors from the BIG EAST Conference following a series sweep against Seton Hall.

The recognition highlights the strong performances by the trio as Creighton opened conference play with three consecutive wins. West was named Player of the Week, Patchen earned Pitcher of the Week, and Greenwood was selected as Freshman of the Week.

West, a senior from Choctaw, Oklahoma, led her team with a .714 batting average over the weekend. She recorded ten hits in fourteen at-bats, including three doubles and a home run. West also drove in seven runs and scored six times. Her performance included reaching two career milestones: becoming only the 11th player in program history to reach 200 career hits and just the 13th to record 100 career runs batted in. This is her third time receiving BIG EAST Player of the Week honors.

Patchen posted a 1.91 earned run average across two appearances, striking out three batters while allowing nine hits over 7.1 innings pitched. The Whitehouse, Ohio native secured her third win of the season on Friday and limited opponents to just two unearned runs in Sunday’s game. This is Patchen’s first time being named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week.

Greenwood contributed with multi-hit games throughout the series, finishing with a .462 batting average along with two doubles, a triple, five runs batted in, and seven runs scored. The freshman matched her career highs for both RBI and runs scored during Saturday’s victory. Greenwood becomes the second Bluejay this season to earn Freshman of the Week honors.

Creighton (9-14 overall; 3-0 BIG EAST) will next play Kansas City in a doubleheader scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at Urban Youth Academy.
