Creighton University’s women’s basketball team will face top-ranked Connecticut in the BIG EAST Semifinals on Sunday at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The Bluejays advanced to this stage after a 57-44 victory over Marquette in the quarterfinals.

The matchup is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Central Time and will be streamed online via Peacock with commentary from John Fanta and Kim Adams. Fans can also listen to the radio broadcast on 1620 AM or follow live statistics through Stat Broadcast.

Creighton has played Connecticut 14 times previously but has yet to secure a win against the Huskies. Their closest contest came during the 2023 season when they lost by just two points. In this series, Connecticut has been ranked in the Top 10 for all but one meeting.

Connecticut enters Sunday’s game with an undefeated record of 32-0 and is coming off an 84-39 win over Georgetown in their own quarterfinal matchup. The Huskies have not lost since February 6, 2025, when they were defeated by Tennessee. Last season, UConn finished with a record of 37-3 and captured its twelfth national championship under head coach Geno Auriemma, who is now in his forty-first year leading the program.

Sarah Strong leads Connecticut in both scoring (18.3 points per game) and rebounding (7.6 rebounds per game). The Huskies are known for their aggressive defense, forcing an average of 25 turnovers per game along with nearly sixteen steals.

Creighton holds a record of 16-14 this season and reached the semifinals after what was described as their best defensive performance of the year against Marquette. However, they struggled offensively from long range during that game, converting only four out of twenty-four attempts from beyond the arc.

To defeat Connecticut and end their unbeaten streak, Creighton will need to perform well across several areas: maintaining belief that they can win despite playing effectively on UConn’s home court; limiting turnovers while forcing UConn into lower-percentage shots; and improving shooting accuracy from three-point range.
