Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, addressed several topics in a series of posts on August 11 and 12, 2025.
On August 11, Rep. Bacon commented on the legal process required for Washington D.C. to become a state: “There’s also this tricky thing called the Constitution. The Constitution would have to be amended to make the Capital the 51st state.”
Later that day, he discussed U.S.-Canada relations and defense commitments: “The U.S. & Canada have had an equitable trade & services relationship, and we should want to build on this. We hope Canada acts on its commitments to increase defense spending as our world has become more dangerous. We need to face these threats together. Thank you CBC for having”
On August 12, Rep. Bacon posted a strong personal condemnation regarding an unspecified individual: “This guy is disgusting. I want nothing to do with him and his sick ideas.”
Rep. Bacon succeeded Brad Ashford in Congress and has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, Bacon currently resides in Papillion and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
