Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district, shared his thoughts on various national security and policy issues through a series of tweets on June 21, 2025.
In a tweet posted at 15:56 UTC, Bacon expressed concern over the absence of leadership at CyberCommand and the NSA following Laura Loomer’s recommendation to fire General Haugh. He highlighted the urgency of filling this leadership vacuum amidst ongoing cyber threats from Russia and China. “Three months after Whack-Job Laura Loomer recommended General Haugh be fired from CyberCommand and NSA we still don’t have a commander in place. A leadership vacuum here is bad while we are being attacked everyday via cyber by Russia and China.”
Later that day, at 18:46 UTC, Bacon called for transparency regarding the Quiet Skies program during the Biden administration. He urged officials to clarify why innocent citizens were subjected to extensive searches at airports, emphasizing the need for public awareness on this issue. “I ask the admin to put a spotlight on the misuse of the Quiet Skies program during the Biden era & inform the public what happened. Innocent citizens were caught up in this at our airports & deserve to know why they were frequently singled out for thorough searches & harassment.”
At 19:18 UTC, Bacon paid tribute to fallen servicemen in past conflicts involving Iranian proxies. He reminded his audience not to forget those who lost their lives in Beirut and Iraq due to these proxy forces’ actions. “We should not forget the 241 servicemen killed in Beirut and the 609 military members in Iraq who were murdered by Iranian proxies.”
Don Bacon has been serving as a U.S Congressman since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017, representing Nebraska’s 2nd district.
