Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted a series of statements on his social media account on April 19, 2026, addressing historical events and current issues facing the Coast Guard.

In an early morning post, Bacon stated: “The Holocaust was pure evil.” (April 19, 2026).

Later that day, he addressed concerns about military pay for Coast Guard personnel by posting: “I asked GROK ‘When was the Coast Guard personnel last paid?’ This is totally unacceptable. Congress must fix this week.” (April 19, 2026).

In another post highlighting Nebraska history, Bacon noted: “Our 38th President was born in Omaha.” (April 19, 2026).

Bacon has served in Congress since succeeding Brad Ashford in 2017 and represents Nebraska’s second congressional district. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 and also holds a degree from the University of Phoenix.
