Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, shared his views on various topics through a series of tweets on July 3, 2025.
In a tweet posted at 05:23 AM UTC, Bacon expressed admiration for Joshua Chamberlain by stating “Joshua Chamberlain is an American hero.”
Later that day, at 12:25 PM UTC, Bacon addressed concerns regarding Medicaid coverage in response to an article. He clarified that “All of the people used as examples in this article WILL NOT be impacted, and their Medicaid coverage will be protected. Healthy people without children will have work requirements. The folks in this story all have health conditions and will be protected.”
At 12:36 PM UTC, Bacon commented on tax implications for Middle Class Nebraskan families and work requirements for certain individuals. He stated that “A ‘NO’ vote is a vote to raise Middle Class Nebraskan families’ taxes (who earn $50,000 a year) by $141 a month or roughly $1,700 a year. The Left’s main criticism is that we impose work requirements for healthy adults without young children.”
Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
