Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues in a series of posts on October 9, 2025, ranging from national security to environmental engagement and concerns over government furloughs.
In a post published at 15:57 UTC, Bacon stated, “Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) introduced an amendment calling for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to review health and safety conditions in the missile facilities.” He added, “We must learn the truth and then make future missile launch facilities safer. Later that day at 17:00 UTC, Bacon highlighted his participation in an environmental initiative with local volunteers: “Citizens’ Climate Lobby volunteers in Nebraska did just that. Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) accepted their invitation for a 1.5-mile hike through a restored prairie at the University of Nebraska Omaha’s Glacier Creek Preserve and invited other environmentalists to join them.”
At 17:19 UTC on the same day, Bacon commented on remarks made by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer about government operations amid ongoing furloughs: “Every Day Gets Better for Us”-Sen. Schumer. REALLY?!?!? How is it better for the 100s of 1,000s of furloughed government workers? For our service members? https://t.co/lhfSot9ehC
