Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform to comment on defense policy and security initiatives in a series of posts on September 11 and 12, 2025.

On September 11, Rep. Bacon posted a statement regarding an amendment related to Pentagon appointees and NATO policy: “‘This amendment is necessary because there are some appointees in the Pentagon who’ve embraced a foolish policy of decoupling from Europe and weakening our leadership in NATO, and we’ve got to stand opposed,’ said Rep. Don Bacon, R-Neb.” (September 11, 2025).

Later that day, he highlighted legislative action supporting regional security: “I spoke in support of the Baltic Security Initiative on House floor yesterday, and it passed the House by voice vote UNANIMOUSLY!” (September 11, 2025).

On September 12, Rep. Bacon posted another message emphasizing support for freedom: “Two more weeks” does not work for most of America. We stand with freedom. (September 12, 2025).

Rep. Don Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in Congress in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
