U.S. Congressman Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district, used his social media account on September 3, 2025, to announce federal funding for Eppley Airfield and highlight ongoing community events in Nebraska.

In a post published at 13:45 UTC, Bacon stated: “Congressman Don Bacon announced millions in funding for Eppley Airfield. The airport secured a $7 million FY24 Congressional Directed Spending grant. The money will go toward international expansion.”

Later that day at 15:06 UTC, he invited constituents to participate in a local tradition by posting: “Excited to be back at the Nebraska Breakfast after a productive August work period! Don Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and currently resides in Papillion. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
