Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, used his social media platform on November 17, 2025, to announce the reintroduction of key bipartisan legislative initiatives and discuss efforts to make health care more affordable.
On November 17, Rep. Bacon posted about the revival of a grant program focused on maritime preservation: “Congressmen Donald Norcross (D-NJ) and Don Bacon (R-NE) have reintroduced the Save Our Ships Act, which if enacted will require the federal government establish a grant program to help fund the preservation of historic U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships and submarines for use in”. The Save Our Ships Act aims to support efforts in maintaining historic naval vessels.
Later that day, Bacon shared additional resources for constituents interested in further details about another bipartisan effort: “Read more about our bipartisan framework below https://t.co/eAHJyjEuQY”.
He also highlighted a media appearance discussing health care reform with Rep. Tom Suozzi: “WATCH: @RepTomSuozzi and I joined @FaceTheNation to discuss our bipartisan framework to temporarily extend and reform the COVID-era ACA tax credits to make health care more affordable. https://t.co/4eALagn2cj”.
Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 and later from the University of Phoenix. Before serving Nebraska’s 2nd district, he replaced Brad Ashford in Congress.
