Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted several updates on his social media account on July 20, 2025, addressing public opinion on Ukraine support and sharing personal reflections.
In one post from the morning of July 20, Bacon wrote: “To correct… the Gallup poll showed 69% of Americans wanted to continue supporting Ukraine at current or higher levels.” He included links to additional resources with this statement.
Later that day, Bacon responded affirmatively to another message by stating: “This is accurate!” in a tweet posted at 13:07 UTC.
In a subsequent tweet that afternoon, he reflected on a personal decision with his spouse: “We did twice and it was one of the best decisions Angie and I made.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, he now resides in Papillion. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University (1984) and further studies at the University of Phoenix.
