Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several topics on his social media account on November 9, 2025.
In a post from the early morning, Bacon congratulated a local high school team, stating, “Congrats to Papio South! Repeat champions!” (November 9, 2025).
Later that day, Bacon commented on U.S. cybersecurity issues. He wrote, “The Cyberspace Solarium Commission says the U.S. cyber defenses have gone backwards this year. CISA’s budget & manpower were cut, and it defends our private sector & infrastructure from cyber attack. Plus, Cyber Command has had no commander for 8 months.” (November 9, 2025).
In another post addressing political ideology within the Republican party, Bacon stated: “There’s a difference between being Far Right and Conservative. Many on Far Right don’t have a conservative moral compass. National Populists for example are not Conservatives.” (November 9, 2025).
Bacon has served in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and is known for representing Nebraska’s 2nd District. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, he graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and later attended the University of Phoenix.
