Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform on August 24, 2025, to comment on U.S. policy toward Ukraine and offer constituent services.
In a post made at 05:20 UTC, Bacon wrote, “According to this article, the Pentagon has embraced Biden’s policy of restricting Ukraine’s use of U.S. weapons for long-range strikes against Russian military targets. Meanwhile, Russia bombs Ukrainian cities every night. This is ‘Appeasement.'”
Later that day at 13:51 UTC, Bacon added another brief statement: “Hypocrisy is right.”
By the evening at 20:00 UTC, Bacon shifted focus to constituent outreach with a message offering assistance in dealing with federal agencies: “If you can’t get timely answers from a federal agency or feel unfairly treated, our office can help resolve issues and get you info. We can’t guarantee a favorable outcome, but we’ll strive for a fair response.”
Bacon has served as the representative for Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, he holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
