Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, addressed several topics on his Twitter account on July 24, 2025, including bipartisan efforts in Congress, historical analogies concerning international relations, and agricultural policy.
In a tweet posted at 14:35 UTC, Bacon wrote about his role in the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus: “.@RepGregLandsman and I are the Whips of the bipartisan @ProbSolveCaucus which means we’re the ‘mean’ guys that make things happen!”.
Later that day at 14:51 UTC, he referenced events leading up to World War II: “Reminds me of someone saying in 1938 that all he wanted was the Sudetenland. After he got it, a Prime Minister from another country said “Peace in our time.””.
At 16:27 UTC on July 24, Bacon commented on California’s Proposition 12 and its impact on agriculture: “California’s Proposition 12 will raise pork costs by 20% at the grocery store. California doesn’t have the right to dictate to Nebraska farmers. Congress has authority over interstate commerce and we must fix this.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since defeating Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes a BA from Northern Illinois University and further studies at the University of Phoenix.
