Rep. Don Bacon, who has represented Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently shared a series of updates on national security, local sports, and foreign policy via his official social media account.
On March 23, 2026, Bacon addressed the future of the U.S. Air Force bomber fleet and national defense needs. He stated, “The Air Force and our national security strategy need 145 B-21 Raider bombers. The Raider can penetrate any air defense and provides deterrence. The B-21 will replace the B-1 and B-2.”
Turning to local community news on March 24, 2026, Bacon congratulated a long-serving university coach: “Congrats @cucoachmac on an incredible 16-year run. We thank you for all you’ve done for the university and Omaha community.”
Later that day, Bacon expressed bipartisan support for legislation related to Ukraine amid ongoing conflict with Russia. He wrote, “.@RepStenyHoyer is right. Congress should pass legislation helping Ukraine acquire the weapons it needs to defend against Russia’s invasion & tighten sanctions against Russia. We have 217 signatures to force a vote & only need one more. Americans overwhelmingly support Ukraine &”
Bacon has been active in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and continues to reside in Papillion, Nebraska. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, he holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
