Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on November 13, 2025, addressing topics ranging from healthcare policy to personal tributes and local achievements.
In his first tweet of the day, Bacon expressed admiration for the German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer and disagreed with media personality Tucker Carlson: “Dietrich Bonhoeffer is one of my heroes. His writings and his courage touched my heart. Once again, Tucker Carlson is dead wrong.” (November 13, 2025).
Later that afternoon, Bacon highlighted concerns about rising health insurance costs under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), emphasizing the need for bipartisan solutions: “We know we must find a bipartisan plan to ease the cost of ACA premiums that are skyrocketing.” (November 13, 2025).
That evening, Bacon celebrated the accomplishments of Eric Alvarez, a former intern from Omaha who was recognized at the White House by President Biden for overcoming challenges in foster care and pursuing higher education: “Great to see our former intern, Eric Alvarez from Omaha, honored at the White House by @POTUS for his journey from foster care to @UNLincoln Grad, now pursuing a master’s degree & soon to be an Air Force officer. Eric’s story shows how support for foster youth can change lives.” (November 13, 2025).
Bacon has served in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and continues to represent Nebraska’s 2nd district. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
