Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on August 4, 2025, addressing both party leadership and agricultural trade issues.
In his first post, Bacon congratulated Rep. Mike Flood for his new role within the Main Street GOP: “I again congratulate @USRepMikeFlood for being selected as the Chair of @MainStreetGOP, a group I helped bring back to life in 2020. Main Street Republicans are conservatives who want to govern and make the hard decisions that our country needs.” (August 4, 2025).
Later that day, Bacon shared an interview with NPR: “Listen to my full interview with @NPR below https://t.co/LkPE6BxjWb” (August 4, 2025).
He also addressed concerns about the agricultural economy in the Midwest: “The Midwest AG economy depends on having markets. America went from having a small AG trade surplus five years ago to now going towards a $50B AG trade deficit, the largest in history. We need trade deals & new markets now. This is also one reason why E15 & aviation biofuels are” (August 4, 2025).
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and resides in Papillion after being born in Momence, Illinois in 1963. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 and later attended the University of Phoenix.
