Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on March 19, 2026, highlighting local achievements and expressing his views on foreign policy.

In one post, Bacon congratulated a local institution: “Congrats to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo for being named the best zoo in the country for the fourth consecutive year by @USATODAY. We love our world-class zoo!” (March 19, 2026).

He also recognized a milestone for a college basketball team: “Congrats @HuskerMBB on your first ever NCAA Tournament win!” (March 19, 2026).

Turning to international affairs, Bacon voiced both support and criticism regarding U.S. foreign policy: “I’ve been very supportive of POTUS on Iran & believe getting rid of Maduro was good. But I’ve been appalled by this Admin’s tone, rhetoric, tactics & strategy toward Europe. Denigrating our allies has been terrible. Weakness communicated to Putin has caused grave damage.” (March 19, 2026).

Bacon has served as the representative for Nebraska’s 2nd District since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
