Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on his social media account between December 12 and December 13, 2025.
On December 12, Bacon highlighted the impact of new legislation: “Our Reconciliation Bill will cut taxes by an average of $3,700 a year per taxpayer. This will tremendously help the average family put food on the table and pay the bills.” The statement was made as Congress debated measures intended to provide financial relief to American families.
Later that day, Bacon recognized efforts to identify missing service members: “We are very proud of the POW/MIA Accounting Agency for bringing so many missing service members home and identified. We are also very proud of their work that is being done at Offutt AFB, right here in NE.” Offutt Air Force Base is located near Omaha and has been central to military operations in Nebraska.
On December 13, Bacon commented on local sports achievements: “Total domination and another sweep for this Elite Eight Huskers!”
Bacon has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after replacing Brad Ashford. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
