Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, has raised concerns on social media regarding recent decisions by the current administration and issues of fraud affecting Americans.
On March 24, 2026, Bacon shared a news item referencing bipartisan warnings to senior officials about policy impacts on Ukraine. He posted, “Spectrum News: In a letter addressed to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Reps. Gregory Meeks, D-N.Y., and Don Bacon, R-Neb., warned about the impact the move could have on the war in Ukraine.”
The following day, he criticized the administration’s approach to Russia sanctions. On March 25, he stated, “The Administration’s decision to ease sanctions on Russia helps financially fuel Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and the daily bombing of its cities. Sanctions relief extends the war. We want tougher sanctions, not weaker ones.”
Later that same day, Bacon discussed efforts to combat financial crimes against vulnerable citizens. He wrote on March 25: “I met with the Nebraska Credit Union League on Monday to discuss the growing number of fraud cases being perpetrated daily against vulnerable Americans. We need a more aggressive prosecution posture to bring these thieves to justice.”
Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and later attended the University of Phoenix.
