On Friday, March 13, the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds, featuring former Benson High School standout Nataya Lockett, were defeated 68-49 by the Texas Woman’s Pioneers during the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament.
The matchup, held at 4 p.m. at Kitty Magee Arena, marked Eastern New Mexico’s opening tournament game against the Pioneers.
Omaha Softball will face St. Thomas in a key Summit League series starting April 10 after an eight-game win streak. The Mavericks have achieved their highest-ever mid-major ranking this season and recently celebrated pitcher Alexis Wiggins’ weekly league honor.
Creighton’s softball series against Georgetown has been rescheduled due to rain in the forecast. The teams will now play a doubleheader on Friday and one game Saturday. Fans with Sunday tickets can exchange them for another home game.
These former City of Omaha area high school athletes are set to compete on Friday, April 10.
