Four student-athletes from the Omaha men’s swimming team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, according to an announcement on April 7.

The recognition highlights the achievements of student-athletes who excel both in athletic competition and academic performance. Being selected for this honor reflects a balance between success in the pool and strong results in the classroom.

The four honorees are Jackson Burrus, Kyle Kulow, Gabe Cusanelli, and Michael Johnson. Among them, Kulow and Cusanelli will move forward to be considered for national Academic All-America honors. The next stage involves voting by members of College Sports Communicators, with first, second, and third-team Academic All-America selections set to be announced on April 29.

The College Sports Communicators program recognizes student-athletes across various sports who demonstrate excellence academically as well as athletically. Advancement to the national ballot is seen as a significant achievement for those chosen.
