Creighton senior Grant Feldman finished as the runner-up in the SeattleU Redhawk Invitational Presented by L.A.B. Golf, according to a March 31 announcement from the university. Feldman shot a final-round 67, bringing his total score to 208 after earlier rounds of 69 and 72.
The tournament, held at Chambers Bay in University Place, Washington, featured a field of 14 teams and 83 players. Creighton placed ninth overall despite posting a strong final round team score of five-under-par (283).
Feldman’s performance marked his second consecutive runner-up finish and his fifth top-five placement in eight events during his senior season. He ended the event eight shots behind Utah Tech’s David Liechty but two ahead of third-place finisher Kevin Li from host Seattle University. “Feldman finished in the top five for the fifth time in eight events during his senior campaign, and has now shot par or better in 17-of-23 loops this season,” according to Creighton’s statement.
Other notable performances for Creighton included Lincoln native Gavin Gerch tying for 35th place with scores of 75, 74, and 71 for an aggregate of 220. Jacob Kutner tied for 43rd after rebounding from an opening round of 80 with subsequent rounds of 70 and 73 (223 total). Owen Price tied for 58th place with a three-round total of 228, while JJ Bordeaux finished in a tie for seventy-fourth with a score of 238.
Abilene Christian won the team competition after shooting a tournament-best final round that moved them up from fifth place to first overall. The course was set as par-72 over both days but measured slightly shorter on Tuesday’s concluding round.
Looking ahead, Creighton will compete next at the Gaucho Invite on April 6–7 before heading into their conference championship meet scheduled for early May.
