Omaha Men’s Basketball junior guard Grant Stubblefield was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, according to a March 24 announcement from Greenwood, Indiana.
The recognition highlights student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. To qualify for the Academic All-District Team, nominees must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, be a sophomore or above, and participate in at least 90% of their institution’s games or start in at least two-thirds of them.
Stubblefield, who is majoring in business administration, played in 26 games this season for the Mavericks and started in 22 of those contests. He recorded a field goal percentage of 52.1% over the course of the season.
The Academic All-America program was established by College Sports Communicators (CSC) in 1952. It is recognized as one of the longest running awards honoring athletic and academic success across all NCAA divisions, as well as NAIA institutions, two-year colleges, and Canadian schools.
