Former Omaha Hockey Menke Family Co-Captain and defenseman Griffin Ludtke has signed with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, according to a team announcement on Mar. 19.
Ludtke’s move to professional hockey marks a significant step in his athletic career after four years playing for Omaha. His time with the Mavericks included 126 games, during which he scored 51 goals and accumulated a total of 57 points. In the 2023-24 season, Ludtke achieved personal bests by playing in 40 games, scoring four goals, and recording 23 assists.
In his final season before joining the Cyclones, Ludtke contributed 17 assists to the Mavericks’ efforts. His leadership was recognized both on and off the ice during his tenure as co-captain.
Omaha head coach Mike Gabinet said, “We are excited to watch Griffin take the next step in his career and turn pro. He has been a great ambassador and leader for the program both on and off the ice. I know he has a lot of great things ahead.”
