Creighton pitcher Jack Pineau was named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week on March 9 following his performance in a 2-1 victory over Gonzaga on Saturday, March 7.

Pineau pitched six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and striking out six batters to secure his second win of the season. He outperformed Gonzaga starter Zach Bowman, who gave up two runs on four hits in eight innings. With this win, Pineau improved his record to 2-0 and lowered his season earned run average to 3.60.

The recognition comes as Creighton prepares to travel to Baton Rouge for a matchup against defending national champion LSU on Tuesday, March 10. The game will be broadcast on the SEC+ Network at 6:30 pm Central Time.

Other BIG EAST weekly honors included Matthew Rhoades from Butler as Player of the Week for his nine hits and five home runs over four games. Additional players recognized on the Honor Roll were David Ayers (Butler), Nater Wachter (UConn), Luke Jackman (Georgetown), Will Parkinson (Villanova), and Evan Vasiliou (Xavier) for their performances during recent games.
