Karmazin leads Mavericks at Jackrabbit Invitational

Emily Karmazin led the Omaha Women’s Golf team to a seventh-place finish at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Memory of Gayle Baker, according to a March 18 announcement from the team.

The tournament saw Karmazin secure 14th place individually, finishing five over par with rounds of 72 (even), 74 (+2), and 75 (+3). Her performance helped Omaha achieve a solid standing among the ten teams competing.

Two other Mavericks, Katie Ruge and Elly Honnens, each recorded an eagle during the event. Additionally, three Mavericks finished in the top 30: Karmazin was joined by Ruge and Jasmine Yang, who both tied for 30th place with scores of nine over par.

UNLV won the team competition with a score of twelve under par. Pin Hsi Chen from UNLV claimed individual honors after finishing nine under par across three rounds.

Omaha Women’s Golf is scheduled to compete next at the Bell Bank Invitational hosted by Minnesota and St. Thomas on Monday, March 23.
