Omaha baseball sophomore Maddox Meyer has been named to the Pitcher of the Year Award Watch List, according to a March 11 announcement from the College Baseball Foundation.
The recognition places Meyer among 142 pitchers from 26 conferences who are being highlighted as top performers in college baseball during the early part of the 2026 season. The award watch list is intended to spotlight standout mound performances across the nation.
Meyer earned this distinction following his performance in Omaha’s 3-1 win over Arizona on February 17, where he struck out ten batters and allowed only two hits over six scoreless innings. This outing was described as his best since joining the Mavericks. After that game, Meyer was ranked No. 1 on the Division I Baseball Tuesday Top Pitchers List and received honors as Summit League Kwik Star Peak Pitcher of the Week.
Looking ahead, Omaha will begin Summit League play with its first home series against North Dakota State at Tal Anderson Field from March 13 to March 15. The opening game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. Central Time start.
