Omaha Women’s Basketball players Avril Smith and Regan Juenemann have received All-Summit League honors, according to an announcement made Tuesday by the conference.

Avril Smith, a freshman from Omaha, was selected for both the All-Freshman team and the All-Defensive team. During the conference season, Smith recorded 190 rebounds and 40 blocks. She set a Division I era record with 23 rebounds in a win against Oral Roberts on February 25. Smith has led the Summit League in total rebounds and blocks for much of the season and has consistently ranked among the top five nationally in total rebounds.

Regan Juenemann, also a freshman, was named to the All-Freshman team. This season, she set a program Division I scoring record for Omaha with 40 points during the same game against Oral Roberts on February 25. In conference play, Juenemann led her team in scoring with 228 points, averaging 14.3 points per game. She finished conference play with a field goal percentage of 50 percent and a three-point shooting percentage of nearly 40 percent.

Smith and Juenemann are scheduled to make their Summit League Championship debuts on Wednesday, March 4 at 4:30 p.m., when eighth-seeded Omaha faces ninth-seeded North Dakota at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The opening round matchup will be broadcast on the Summit League Network and Midco Sports. Radio coverage is available on 1180 KOZT in Omaha or via the Varsity Network.
