Omaha Hockey’s 2025-26 season ended after a two-game loss to North Dakota in the quarterfinals of the NCHC Frozen Faceoff. The Mavericks lost 5-1 on Saturday night in Grand Forks, following a 5-3 defeat in Friday’s opener. Omaha finished the season with a record of 12-24, while North Dakota improved to 27-8-1 and advanced to the semifinal round.

In Saturday’s game, Maxime Pellerin scored his tenth goal of the season early in the first period, assisted by Jacob Guevin and Luke Woodworth. Omaha led for ten minutes before North Dakota tied the game late in the first period.

North Dakota took control during the second period, scoring twice and outshooting Omaha 12-3. Despite Simon Latkoczy making several key saves for Omaha early in the third period and Griffin Ludtke hitting the crossbar, North Dakota added two more goals late in regulation—including an empty-netter—to secure their victory.

Latkoczy recorded 23 saves as North Dakota finished with a 28-15 shots-on-goal advantage.
