Omaha Men’s Tennis players Bryan Kuntz, Anthony Scheglowski, and Liam Spiers received all of the Kwik Star Summit League weekly awards, according to a March 17 announcement from the league.

The recognition highlights the team’s recent performances on the road. Kuntz, a graduate student from Cuiaba, Brazil, was named Singles Peak Performer of the Week after winning all three of his matches in the No. 1 singles flight. He dropped only one set during victories over Southern Miss, New Orleans, and Nicholls State. This is Kuntz’s first time earning this award this season.

Scheglowski, a freshman from Lakeville, Minnesota, and Spiers, a graduate student from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, were honored for their doubles play in the No. 2 flight. The pair won three out of four matches during their first weekend as partners. Their wins included a close tiebreaker at Southern Miss against a team that had been ranked at the end of last fall. This marks both players’ first time receiving this award; it is also Scheglowski’s first collegiate honor.

The Mavericks are scheduled to host Creighton on Friday, March 20 at Miracle Hill Tennis Center before traveling to face Oral Roberts for their first conference match of the season on Sunday, March 22.
