Omaha Women’s Golf finished in eighth place out of nine teams on March 8 at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational, which was hosted by Southern Utah at Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George, Utah.
The result places Omaha near the bottom of the standings for this event. The tournament provided an opportunity for the team to compete against regional opponents and assess their performance ahead of upcoming competitions.
Macarena Garcia Terron led the Mavericks, tying for 26th place with rounds of 80, 76, and 75 to finish 15 strokes over par. Natalie Henson recorded the team’s lowest round of the weekend with a score of 74 during Friday’s opening round. Omaha also tallied a total of 32 birdies throughout the tournament, ranking fourth among all participating teams. Weber State secured the team title at this event.
The Mavericks are scheduled to return to competition on Monday, March 16 at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder City, Nevada.
