Omaha women’s basketball prepares for Summit League tournament opener against North Dakota

Omaha, Nebraska – The Omaha Women’s Basketball team is set to begin its campaign in the Summit League Championship on Wednesday, March 4. The Mavericks, seeded eighth with a season record of 5-26 overall and 3-13 in conference play, will face ninth-seeded North Dakota at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Central Time.

During the regular season, Omaha and North Dakota each won one game against each other. North Dakota secured a 75-54 victory in Grand Forks, while Omaha won 58-54 at home.

The winner of this opening round matchup will advance to play top-seeded North Dakota State in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. Central Time.

Two players from Omaha received recognition for their performances this season. Freshman Avril Smith was named to both the All-Freshman team and the All-Defensive team. Freshman Regan Juenemann also earned a spot on the All-Freshman team.

Tickets for Wednesday’s game are currently available, along with all-session ticket options. The game will be broadcast live on the Summit League Network as well as on radio via Varsity Network and KOIL 1290AM in Omaha.
