Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several national issues in a series of posts on October 10, 2025.
In his first message of the day, Bacon highlighted concerns about cybersecurity threats to American agriculture: “The U.S. has seen a 38% increase in cyberattacks against our agriculture. Congress needs to take action. Last year, I had legislation in the Farm Bill that will improve our AG cybersecurity, and I’m working with the committee to ensure it’s included again.” (October 10, 2025). He emphasized ongoing efforts to bolster protections for the sector through legislative means.
Later that evening, Bacon made a public call regarding international conflict and advocacy groups: “We call on you and CAIR to denounce Hamas. Free Palestine… from Hamas.” (October 10, 2025).
In another post that same night, Bacon paid tribute to a retiring military leader: “General Dave Allvin, the 23rd AF Chief of Staff, retired today after 39 years of military service. I served with him twice and he is a great friend. I wish Gina and him great success and happiness in their next chapter.” (October 10, 2025).
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in Congress in 2017 and is known for his background as a retired Air Force brigadier general. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA before earning an additional degree from the University of Phoenix.
