Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district, posted a series of statements on his official X account over August 23 and 24, addressing both local agricultural interests and national policy concerns.
On August 23, Bacon highlighted his engagement with state agricultural groups at a local event: “Great catching up with @NEFarmBureau and @NECattlemen yesterday at the Nebraska State Fair. Bacon likes beef and corn!” (posted August 23, 2025).
Later that evening, he commented on an unspecified situation involving the Biden Administration: “If this is true, it is a total disgrace. It would constitute moral confusion, strategic ignorance, and gross incompetence. Did they not learn from the Biden Administration’s blundering on this?” (posted August 24, 2025).
In another post on August 24, Bacon wrote: “Peace through Surrender does not work.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University earned in 1984 and further studies at the University of Phoenix.
