Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of tweets addressing agricultural policy, veterans’ healthcare infrastructure, and other topics.
On July 17, 2025, Bacon shared his engagement with the Nebraska Corn Growers Association on trade and agriculture: “Great meeting with @NeCGA discussing trade and agriculture policies to support Nebraska’s corn industry. Bacon likes corn! https://t.co/6krSdiNi3O”.
Later that day, he highlighted ongoing efforts to secure federal funding for a new veterans hospital in collaboration with several organizations: ‘”Bacon has been working with the VA, University of Nebraska Medical Center and local philanthropists in hopes of securing federal funding for a new veterans hospital, which UNMC leaders have offered to locate on their campus.” More from @OWHnews https://t.co/vPoCQZghxT’.
In another post on July 18, 2025, Bacon responded critically to an unspecified statement: “That’s about the dumbest thing I read today. https://t.co/jSUsCWbIl8”.
Bacon has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
