Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted a series of messages on social media expressing support for Israel, denouncing anti-Semitism, commenting on sports, and offering Hanukkah greetings.
On December 14, 2025, Rep. Bacon wrote: “I support the nation of Israel. But for those who don’t, assaulting and harassing Jewish Americans, Jewish Australians, etc., is anti-Semitism. A Code Pink lady was yelling at a guy last week because he was wearing a Kippah at the Capitol… she’s a sick, racist lady.”
Later that day, he commented on a sporting event involving Big Red fans: “It was heartbreaking loss for all Big Red fans, but we are proud of our Big Ten Champions. I may need a new heart after Set Four! I loved the guts and determination.”
On December 15, 2025, Bacon extended holiday wishes to the Jewish community: “May the first light of Hanukkah bring peace, joy, and safety to the homes of all who celebrate. Wishing our Jewish friends and community a happy and blessed Hanukkah.”
Bacon has served in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He holds degrees from Northern Illinois University (BA) and the University of Phoenix.
