Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, recently shared updates on legislative efforts and policy positions through a series of posts on his official social media account.

On March 17, 2026, Bacon advocated for the Safe Skies Act by stating, “The Safe Skies Act will ensure one uniform standard of safety in our airspace. Cargo pilots fly in the same skies and land at the same airports as commercial pilots, and they should operate under the same science-based fatigue and rest standards.”

Later that day, he highlighted his participation in a local business event: “Great speaking at the Omaha Chamber Politics & Eggs to share an update on our work and discuss the strong economic development projects across Omaha.” This underscores Bacon’s ongoing engagement with economic initiatives within his district.

In another post from March 17, Bacon addressed international policy concerns regarding Russia sanctions: “Easing sanctions on Russia because of higher gas prices is ‘penny-wise, but pound-foolish.’ In the end, this lengthens the war in Ukraine by helping Russia financially sustain its invasion and daily bombing of Ukrainian cities.”

Bacon has served as Nebraska’s 2nd District representative since succeeding Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
