Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted a series of statements on November 3, 2025, addressing national defense and constitutional issues.
In one post at 17:19 UTC, Bacon wrote, “America needs a fleet of 140 to 150 B-21s. Peace through strength. The B-21 gives us deterrence.” In another tweet at 17:23 UTC, he commented on presidential term limits by stating, “This is crazy talk. The 22nd Amendment is absolutely clear.” Later that day at 17:43 UTC, Bacon addressed leadership changes within the U.S. military’s cyber operations: “Gen. Haugh was fired 8 months ago with no reason given by the Admin. He was the Commander of Cyber Command & NSA. This very important leadership still remains vacant. Meanwhile, we are under cyber attack every day. This is gross negligence & unacceptable.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and resides in Papillion after being born in Momence, Illinois in 1963. He holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
The B-21 bomber referenced by Bacon is part of ongoing efforts to modernize the U.S. Air Force’s long-range strike capabilities as part of national security policy initiatives.
The mention of the 22nd Amendment refers to the section of the U.S. Constitution that limits presidents to two terms in office.
Leadership at U.S. Cyber Command and the National Security Agency (NSA) has been under scrutiny following recent vacancies and concerns about ongoing cybersecurity threats.
