Rep. Don Bacon, who has represented Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, posted a series of messages on his official social media account between December 13 and 14, 2025. The posts addressed topics ranging from local sports achievements to national issues of anti-Semitism and public acts of heroism.
On December 13, Rep. Bacon congratulated a local collegiate volleyball team: “Our hats off to the Creighton Jays Volleyball team on a great season! You made Omaha area proud! You are the 2025 Big East Champions.”
The following day, he commented on anti-Semitism in America, writing: “Anti-Semitism turns into murder. That’s why we should always have zero tolerance for it here in America. And with the GOP, I believe in a big tent but not when it comes to anti-Semites. We don’t want them.” This statement was posted on December 14.
Later that same morning, Rep. Bacon highlighted an act of individual bravery: “This man is a hero… his brave intervention may have saved many lives. Everyday people, with no warning, often step up and lead with courage. I’m reminded of the passengers on FL 93 on 9/11. Their memory never ceases to inspire.”
Rep. Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix. Bacon succeeded Brad Ashford as representative for Nebraska’s 2nd district in Congress starting in 2017.
