Rep. Don Bacon, who has represented Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, posted a series of comments on social media on December 22, 2025, reflecting on conservatism and current political discourse.

In his first post of the day, Bacon wrote: “Ronald Reagan and Ike Eisenhower are rolling over in their graves. Ted Kennedy and George McGovern are applauding.” (December 22, 2025). Later that night, he commented: “Another racist Putin bot site.” (December 22, 2025).

The following afternoon, Bacon addressed the nature of conservatism with another post: “Conservatism is about longstanding ideas, principles and values… not populism and hero worship.” (December 22, 2025).

Bacon’s statements come amid ongoing national debates over the direction of conservative politics. Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He earned his BA from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and also graduated from the University of Phoenix.
