Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving as the U.S. Congressman for Nebraska’s 2nd district, recently shared a series of posts on his official X account discussing constituent services, historical interests, and international events.
On November 15, 2025, Bacon addressed concerns about interactions with federal agencies. He stated, “If you can’t get timely answers from a federal agency or feel unfairly treated, our office can help resolve issues and get you info. We can’t guarantee a favorable outcome, but we’ll strive for a fair response.”
Later that same day, Bacon posted about his interest in American history. He wrote on November 15, 2025: “I enjoy studying the Civil War. Just finished this book on one of the heroes of Gettysburg. Chamberlain became Governor of Maine & President of Bowdoin College. He received the Medal of Honor later in life for his leadership on Little Round Top. ‘Draw your bayonets!'”
On November 16, 2025, Bacon commented on recent statements by Pope Francis regarding attacks during an ongoing conflict. He said: “While I applaud the Pope criticizing the attacks, I encourage him to state clearly who is at fault for bombing cities and the killing of children. It is RUSSIA and PUTIN. Putin needs to feel the scorn the world has for his barbarity.”
Don Bacon has served in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and represents Nebraska’s 2nd District. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and now residing in Papillion, Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and also attended the University of Phoenix.
