Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted a series of statements on March 28, 2026, addressing international conflict, national defense spending, and legislative priorities in agriculture.
In one post, Bacon contrasted the military actions of Russia and Ukraine: “Russia targets civilians. Ukraine hits military targets or economic ones that funds Putin’s illegal invasion.” (March 28, 2026).
Later that day, Bacon commented on U.S. defense expenditures: “We currently spend 3.4% of our GDP on defense. We are not walking the talk.” (March 28, 2026).
He also highlighted progress in agricultural legislation: “I am pleased that all six of our legislative priorities were included in the Farm Bill passed by @HouseAgGOP. Agriculture is economic security and national security, and this legislation equips producers with the tools they need to succeed.” (March 28, 2026).
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and resides in Papillion. His educational background includes degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
