Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on September 4, 2025, addressing issues ranging from due process to congressional oversight and the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
In an early post that day, Bacon wrote: “NE Nice! By the way, I’m a conservative who lets due process work.” (September 4, 2025).
Later in the afternoon, he commented on misinformation and legislative procedures: “Another low IQ social media influencer. Readers can post false info. Our Oversight Committee is tasked to subpoena the files & release them to public. Brian doesn’t seem to realize that a discharge bill has to pass both Senate & signed by President. The House is moving out now.” (September 4, 2025).
That evening, Bacon addressed the ongoing efforts regarding documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein: “The American people deserve nothing less than the complete truth about the Epstein files. Our vote yesterday was about getting to that truth, not scoring political points. That’s why we supported the most comprehensive and expedited release possible. Full statement below” (September 4, 2025).
Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and resides in Papillion after being born in Momence, Illinois in 1963.
He holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
