Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of political issues on his social media account on October 17, 2025.
In one post published at 16:27 UTC, Bacon wrote, “There is anti-Semitism on the far left and the far right. Some on the far right are also apologists for Putin and Russia. This Conservative will have nothing to do with either. I don’t want them in the GOP and both are surely not conservatives.”
Later that day at 17:47 UTC, he commented on international relations, stating, “The President says Putin & Zelenskyy hate each other. Zelenskyy didn’t have hard feelings towards Putin prior to Russia’s invasion. But, Putin initiated an invasion, bombs Ukrainian cities, murders POWs & kidnapped 20,000 children. Moral clarity is needed.”
At 21:34 UTC on the same date, Bacon addressed legislative developments regarding government funding: “We, the House, passed a clean CR with no political strings attached. There’s no reason for the Senate Dems to force this shutdown. The appropriations bills are the time and place to negotiate and they’ll require bipartisan support to pass.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion at age 59. His educational background includes a BA from Northern Illinois University (1984) and additional studies at the University of Phoenix.
