Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on X (formerly Twitter) on October 21, 2025, addressing federal employee pay, international tax competitiveness, and a recent award recognizing bipartisan cooperation.

Later that day at 14:32 UTC, Bacon commented on the United States’ position in global tax competitiveness rankings. He stated, “United States ranks 15th in the world in the tax competitive index. The three Baltic nations rank in the top five! Once they gained their freedoms from the Soviet Union they fully embraced the free markets and the rule of law. @JBANCchatter”
At 14:33 UTC on October 21, Bacon expressed gratitude after receiving an award for bipartisan leadership alongside Rep. Jimmy Panetta. In his words: “Thank you to @WithHonorAction for recognizing @RepJimmyPanetta and I with the Principles over Politics Award. My faith, our country and my family are priorities over partisanship.”
Don Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, he currently resides in Papillion and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
